I had no idea a 28-day art challenge would spark the beginning of my business!

One evening I was scrolling Instagram and something got me interested! An UK Artist I followed posted a 28-day art challenge. It was almost February, the challenge was painting every day. they had a prompt for every day of February. A colour and a word. Like "Arctic Lime" and "Banana Mania". I was working almost full time, the boys were only little and after they went to bed, I usually just watched tv or scrolled social media. I thought this would be fun. I used to paint and hadn't picked up my brushes in a while. I decided to do it!

One box of cards!

Every day I would post my painting on Instagram. Some I liked, some I hated, but I did it consistently. I was surprised by the reactions. Looking back, maybe they were just being kind, but everyone seemed to love my work. Close to the end of the month, I had a hand full of people ask me if I would do an art practice professionally. They said I should do something with the art pieces I had just painted. I really had no idea what they were on about, I asked Adam what they meant. Adam was quick to suggest I sold greeting cards with my art on them. And thus, Bosa Art Co began.

A few weeks later, after some research in costings and print processes, I had a box of 300 cards! I had 300 cards, no shop to sell them in, no website, no markets. Just a box of cards! In a panic and with excitement, out I went door knocking on some local shops. To my surprise, they started selling!

And the business slowly snow balled and before you knew it I was designing fabric, teaching art and showcasing at markets. But that is all for another email!

It was the best accident I have ever had!
